THE MAP STORY SO FAR While we've long been in love with Bold & Noble's word-filled country prints, it seems that topography is replacing typography as the latest look. Designers are decorating everything from walls to furniture in geographical atlas maps. Nostalgia is key to this look, with aged, washed-out shades giving a subtle and school-like feel to the designs. These organic colours are perfect partners for furniture and accessories made from natural materials like wood and leather.

WHERE WE'VE SEEN MAPS Murals and wallpaper are where this look flourishes, with companies like Printed Space and Digetex producing oversized digital map decorating designs that allow you to see the beauty of the maps in much greater detail. On a smaller scale, online company Bombus sources vintage maps

to make bespoke heart prints that pinpoint areas with sentimental meaning.

COOL MAP COLLABORATIONS Fashion designer Christian Lacroix has created a new collection of washable map wallpapers for Designers Guild that features a striking antique map design called Voyage, while Surface View has teamed up with Collins Bartholomew to create a collection of reproduction 17th and 18th-century map and weather patterns designs.
